Beyond: A Spiritual JourneyChurch of the King
Beyond Commitment Card

A Letter from Pastor Steve

Many times in 2020 I was comforted by the truth God is in control and with Him we can go “beyond” the impossible. Through natural eyes, 2020 loomed challenging and in many respects, impossible. But in the supernatural, the scriptural promise of Ephesians 3:20 propelled our church family forward with the vision of Reaching People and Building Lives: Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us.

In 2020, we expanded and reached more people with the launch of our new West Esplanade Campus in Kenner, by broadcasting on local television stations, and by creating a more engaging online experience. For 2021, we are excited to announce the launch of Beyond 2.0: The Story Continues... Beyond 2.0 promises to be exciting with many opportunities ahead, such as: St. Charles Campus Phase I renovation starting in January, our new campus launch in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, and a brand-new, budding campus in Atlanta, Georgia.

Wow! Even in these challenging times, we see God continue to do exceedingly, abundantly, beyond all we could ever ask, imagine, or think! Let’s keep Reaching People and Building Lives! We all have a vital part to play through our prayers and partnership. Join in the journey this year. Together, let’s go Beyond!

The best is yet to come,

Steve Robinson

St. Charles Campus

Impacting A City With The Gospel

The Goal:
Grand Opening December 2022.

The Project:
In 2006, Church of the King purchased the iconic Jerusalem Temple on St. Charles Avenue. Since then, we have conducted regular health, dental, and veterinarian outreaches from the building to serve the needs of the local community. Along the way, we made the necessary architectural and construction modifications to set up for the exterior work of Phase I. Phase I construction begins January 2021.

The Need:
Total: $6,500,000

Little Creek Campus

The Goal:
Improve various ministry environments by the end of 2021.

The Project:
Completing the main building at Little Creek in 2013 was a monumental effort. Now that we’ve settled into our new home, we need to continue working on our campus master plan. The Beyond 2.0 project at Little Creek Campus consists of renovating the Annex for our youth and Lead College, and finishing infrastructure, parking, and beautification on the campus.

Our Need:
Immediate: $1 million

Biloxi Campus

Preparing For The Future

The Goal:
To raise funds for the future expansion of our campus facility.

The Project:
Over the past decade, Church of the King’s Biloxi Campus has grown to over 600 in average weekend attendance. While we are incredibly blessed with our current facilities, we recognize the need to expand for future growth.

At our current growth rate, it’s vital, we increase the seating in our worship center from 300 to 550, along with improving our commons area and children’s classrooms. Our plan is to begin renovation when we meet the remaining Phase 1 need of $152k.

The Need:
Immediate: $152,000
Phase 2: $500,000

West Esplanade Campus

Our New Church Home

The Goal:
Phase 1 Completion and Phase 2 Build-Out.

The Project:
In 2011, Church of the King launched the South Shore Campus with just one hundred people. Since then, the campus has multiplied, with over 1,000 in regular weekend attendance. In 2018, God opened the door for us to purchase and renovate a former movie theater adjacent to the Esplanade Mall in Kenner. We have moved from renters to owners. This new church home allows us to provide impactful ministry to our community and beyond. We are working to complete the first phase of the construction, add additional ministry space, improve parking, and finish out office space.

The Need:
Immediate: $650,000

Baton Rouge Campus

The Goal:
Expansion of our children’s facility.

The Project:
In 2018, God supernaturally provided us with a large campus in Louisiana’s capital, just ten minutes from the south gates of LSU. We have a vital and necessary need to upgrade our King’s Kids facility to better reach the next generation.

The Need:
Phase 1 Need: $250K
Phase 2 Need: $250K

Bay St. Louis, Mississippi

Over the last few years, Pastor Frank Griffin and his wife, Terri, of Calvary Chapel - Bay St. Louis, had been praying about joining their congregation with Church of the King. Pastor Frank approached us about the possibility of merging his church with ours. After much prayer and discussion with our elders, we are excited to announce the joining of Calvary Chapel of Bay St. Louis to Church of the King. January 3, 2021, is the first official service of the Church of the King Bay St. Louis campus.

Atlanta, Georgia

Years ago, an amazing Church of the King couple moved to Atlanta because a job transfer. This past year, they started gathering with people in their homes to watch our services online. Now more than 100 people gather weekly in multiple homes to watch Church of the King online! With this new development, our elders sensed a divine call to plant a campus and reach out to the millions of people who live in metropolitan Atlanta. Our goal is to officially launch this new campus Fall 2021. If you know of anyone living in Atlanta who needs a church home, please let us know. We are excited to announce that the former campus pastor of the Biloxi Campus Jeremy Usry, and his wife Lacy, will be leading this congregation. For launch information, please email Pastor Jeremy at

Church Online & Broadcast

The Project:
When COVID-19 hit, there was a dire need for our digital ministry reach to expand. We saw a great opportunity through online and television, and even amidst the COVID-19 restrictions, we reached unprecedented numbers of people. We took 2020 as a God- given moment to reach more people in this time of need. Now, we are seeing between 30-50k per week between online services and television broadcasts. We have been able to expand the vision of Reaching People and Building Lives in our local community and the world.

The Need:
Immediate: $250,000

The Beyond 2.0 campaign is a 12-month extension to our journey designed to impact a region for Christ. We are taking a step of faith as a church family that will not just affect us, but will lead to many others finding Christ for the very first time. As you spend time in the communities of the Gulf Coast Region and beyond, the need for the Gospel is very evident. God is calling us to act now so that our family, friends, colleagues and neighbors can have an encounter with the saving power of Jesus.
We recognize this is a God-sized task far beyond the ability of any one person. Reaching our Beyond 2.0 need of $9.3 million will take sacrifices from all of us. Will you be prayerfully and financially involved in the vision of the beyond campaign?
You have the opportunity to make a pledge commitment, over and above your regular tithes. Commitment cards are available to help you do so. To help you calculate your pledge amount, you can use the worksheet to the left.
You can give towards your pledge commitment at any time by using Beyond envelopes or by giving in the app, or online at Pray and ask God how you can make a financial investment in the Beyond campaign.
As you begin to pray about how much God might want you to give, we encourage you to embrace this as a spiritual journey with God. The question we need to ask ourselves is not “how much do I think I can give?” but rather “how much does God want me to give?”
Join in the journey!

We are encouraging everyone in our church family to join us in making a commitment to the Beyond vision. To express your commitment, you can fill out a Commitment Card that details how much you feel led to give above and beyond your tithes towards the Beyond campaign.

To fill out a Commitment Card, you can get one at Information Central at all of our campuses on the weekend, or you can fill out your commitment online.
